New Year, New Blog, First Post!

So, here goes. I really should have started this blog WAY back in the beginning of our DIY adventures (that is, about 3 years ago when we bought our first house--a cute, little raised ranch right off the showroom floor-- however it had no floors, or trim or paint on the walls or grass or deck or fence or driveway and don't get me started on the unfinished basement...anyway, you get the point: there was a lot of work).

Now it is coming up on our 3 year house-iversary and we have put a great deal of our blood (literally), sweat (oh yeah!) and tears (hello, slipped back disc, I remember you well) into the creation of our little starter home. This blog is my creative outlet to spill all my design deets from the occasional house tour to DIY projects to the biggest baby of them all: finishing that unfinished basement (which, incidentally is the same square footage as the entire upstairs and my adorable and handy husband has pretty much singlehandedly built from scratch!).

Oh yeah, I need to mention the even bigger baby in the development stages (well not physically bigger but metaphorically very large indeed)---I'm currently almost 16 weeks pregnant with our first child--the greatest DIY of them all ;)
